To the editor:
In regards to the “letter” by Mr. Goulart in the July 30 edition of the Portsmouth Times, perhaps conservatives don’t see things as you do, Mr. Goulart, through your “liberal eyes.”
You didn’t have to inform the readers about your “… education have made me a liberal.” Your opening sentence, right out of the mouths of the liberal main street media and Nancy Pelosi herself quickly identified you as such. I guess your education entailed listening to liberal professors and watching CNN, MSNBC, ABC, etc.
There are/were no para-military “troops” (whatever those are?) sent into an American city. Later on, you again referred to them this time as federal troops. So, then you’re saying the government is actually sending Marines, the infantry, or whatever military forces into our cities? Yikes! No, the people sent in were/are federal agents, not troops (aka, soldiers) and the president doesn’t need permission from the city government to protect federal property. In fact, he has a responsibility to do just that.
The local politicians have a responsibility to protect their citizens and property, but the liberal nitwits are not doing so. These agents were/are not peppering protestors. They are bravely doing their best to prevent arsonists, anarchists, vandals, etc. from destroying federal property (courthouse) and suffering many injuries in the process from these so liberally called “peaceful protesters”.
Also, I guess you’re not familiar with the concept of unmarked cars. Oh my gosh … don’t tell anyone but, we use them here in Portsmouth so the “bad guys” don’t know the “good guys” are watching (and if marked in Portland they would be set on fire by the “peaceful protesters”).
Perhaps you could leave the comforts of peaceful Little Compton for a week and rent an apartment in downtown Portland. Then you could see what is really happening there and get a taste of what it would be like to have Uncle Joe run our country.
