League reschedules Little Compton council candidate forum
Originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, new date is Monday, Oct. 19
The Newport County chapter of the League of Women Voters has rescheduled a public forum for Little Compton Town Council candidates until Monday, Oct. 19.
The forum was originally scheduled for the Little Compton Community Center this coming Tuesday, Sept. 22. But league president Christine Stenning informed candidates Thursday that due to scheduling and notification issues, a date change was warranted.
The forum will be held at the community center and will run back to back with a separate forum for Little Compton School Committee candidates.
Residents who have questions for candidates can submit them at tinyurl.com/LCforum922.
The forum is presented by the non-partisan league in partnership with East Bay Media Group, Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce, Common Cause Rhode Island, AARP Rhode Island and Newport This Week. It is free and open to all and will be moderated by East Bay Media Group publisher Scott Pickering.
Other Sakonnet-area forums this election season include:
• Wednesday, Oct. 7: Tiverton Town Council, at Tiverton High School;
• Thursday, Oct. 8: Tiverton School Committee, at Tiverton High School
