Lawrence M. Rocha, age 79, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 14, 2020. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Cavaca) Rocha.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Manuel and Alexandra “Lily” (Mello) Rocha, he was a longtime resident of Little Compton.

Lawrence worked for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation for 25 years until retirement.  He enjoyed going out to eat with his wife, especially to the Liberal Club, taking vacations to New Hampshire, and took pride in his home and yard.  He loved watching football and was a New York Giants fan, but also rooted for the Patriots.

He especially enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa Roies and her husband James, Mazelle Wood, and Tammy Needham and her husband William; one brother, Michael Rocha and his wife Barbara; and one sister, Noreen Black and her husband James.

He was blessed with many grandchildren, Katrina Roies, Jessica Wood, Justin Roies, Kendall Sallar, Malynda and Shannon Needham, Grace and Johnathan Camara, Brenden and Mathew Palmquist, and Aaron Souza; and three great grandchildren, Kaylee Martins, Logan Palmquist and Lily Rose Souza; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Lawrence M. Rocha II, and brother of the late James Rocha and wife Anne.

Private arrangements are under the care of Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home. To leave a note of condolence, www.wibur-romano.com.
