Helen H. (Hastie) Waite, 94, of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at The Dawn Hill Home for Rehab and Healthcare. She was the wife of the late Arnold W. Waite, with whom she shared 72 years of marriage.

Mrs. Waite was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Wesley G. and Dorothea T. (Anderson) Hastie and had been a lifelong resident of Tiverton. She was an accomplished seamstress, and prior to retirement, worked as a rural mail carrier for the USPS. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and word search, and in her earlier years, going to the beach. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her two sons, Wesley A. Waite and his wife Donna of Swansea and Douglas W. Waite of Tiverton; her three daughters, Donna S. Waite of Tiverton, Diane L. Wood of Tiverton and Karen L. Waite of North Port, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Brent Davoll, Priscilla Wood, Douglas II, Craig, Ian, Erin, Alison, Eric and Eli Waite and Devon Ireland; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was grandmother of the late Kevin Davoll and Leah Ireland.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the First Baptist Old Stone Church, 7 Old Stone Church Rd., Tiverton, RI 02878 or to a charity of your choice.
