The state Department of Transportation has placed a 3-ton weight limit on the bridge that crosses Sin and Flesh Brook on Fish Road.

DOT spokesperson Charles St. Martin said the restriction was put in place following a recent inspection and engineers are evaluating repair options.

All vehicles heavier than three tons will need to follow a signed detour using Route 24, Main Road and Bulgarmarsh Road.

Fish Road carries approximately 9,000 vehicles per day.
