Dorothy (“Judy”) Ethel Truchon, born on February 4, 1934, passed away at the age of 86 on August 23, 2020.

She is survived by daughter, Pam Truchon (Jean Laning), daughter, Lyn Battaglino (George Battaglino), son Jay Truchon (Joanne Truchon; four grandchildren, Alex Truchon, Janie Truchon, Katie Battaglino, Jacob Battaglino; nephew, Thomas Brooks, and niece Jodie Honstetter.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Truchon; her parents Jefferson Brooks and Vivian (Wimer) Brooks; and brother, Jefferson (“Bobby”) Brooks.

She had many friends in both Little Compton, and Brownsville, Texas where she held dual residencies.

Judy graduated from RI Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 and became a Registered Nurse which was her lifetime career. In 1957, she married Donald Truchon; they were married 60 years until his passing in 2017.

Her favorite hobby was genealogy and she spent countless hours documenting her family history. Other hobbies were embroidery, crocheting and reading. She loved to travel and had visited every state in the US except Hawaii as well as traveling to Europe. In Texas, she enjoyed spending time with many dear friends since she and Donald had purchased property there.

Judy lived a full and wonderful life and told her son, Jay, that she truly did everything she wanted to do. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

Private services will be held at a later date. Donations, in her name, can be made to the American Heart Association.
