Strong, intelligent, kind and loved

Posted

Cheryl Sousa Almeida, loved by partner Richard Messier of Little Compton, RI, died tragically on October 18, 2021.

A forever curious student hungry for knowledge, Cheryl grew up in Bristol, RI, where she raised her family. With a knack for business, she worked as an Office Manager at Messier Construction in Tiverton, RI for the past 10 years.
She was a strong, intelligent, kind woman who was a strong advocate for others and passionate about healthy living. Over the years she helped coach and train others to do the same.

Daughter of the late Linda Lawrence Sousa Mondina and Louis Sousa for Bristol, RI, she leaves behind two incredible children, Joshua Almeida and Kathryn Almeida, who will miss her wildly. She also leaves behind three amazing siblings: Marybeth Sousa Brissette of Woonsocket, RI, Lou Sousa of Medway, MA, and Lynn Sousa Gill of Lincoln, RI, as well as many beloved friends and extended family.

She had a massive generous heart and such excitement for learning. She will be severely missed and forever loved by all who cared for her.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
