East Providence wrestler Charlie Phillips is the 138-pound state champ.
The second seeded Phillips won four matches on his way to the title during the state tournament at the Providence Career and Technical Academy on Friday and Saturday.
The senior pinned Max Vasquez of Mt. Pleasant in the first round and Jaxon Sherlock in the quarterfinals. He then won a 14-2 major decision over Hope's Brian Montanez in the semifinals, before winning a 23-9 major decision over South Kingstown's Ben White in the championship on Saturday night.
