TIVERTON — The St. Theresa girls’ basketball team defeated St. Michaels Grammar 35-28 to win
the CYO state championship Saturday.
The Tiverton girls were down 19-13 at the half but came back with strong defense in the second half to take the title.
St. Theresa’s reached the championship game with a semifinal win over St. Jude’s.
They will next represent the Dioceses of Providence in the New England Tournament on Friday March 31.
