Barrington police responded to a car accident on Washington Road on Tuesday, March 31 at about 8:30 p.m.
Police said a Riverside resident was driving north on Washington Road when her vehicle struck a utility pole. Police interviewed the woman, who later admitted to texting while driving.
Police issued the woman a citation for operating a vehicle while using a handheld device. No one was injured in the accident.
