Warwick teen charged with underage possession of alcohol

• Monday, Aug. 12: Two Barrington residents and their teenage daughter spoke with police about a family matter. The 18-year-old woman allegedly told police she was having a difficult time with her parents because they would not let her go sky-diving with her friends. The woman said the situation was causing her stress.

• Tuesday, Aug. 13: Police charged a Warwick teenager with underage possession or consumption of alcohol-possession. A police officer stopped a vehicle on the Wampanoag Trail for operating with a headlight out. When the officer approached the vehicle, he allegedly spotted a container of alcohol. Police said a search revealed alcohol nips and an energy drink possibly mixed with alcohol. One of the people in the vehicle, 18-year-old Warwick resident Olivia Ahlborg allegedly said the alcohol was hers. There were four individuals in the car — all were under the age of 21. Police said the driver did not appear to be under the influence.

• Tuesday, Aug. 13: A motorist allegedly fell asleep while driving down Maple Avenue and his vehicle struck a utility pole. The motorist told police he had been working all night and was on his way home. The man had given a friend a ride home prior to the accident, and his friend had to wake him up at one point of the ride.
