News that the Metacomet golf course under new management has decided to sell it to developers for mixed use condos and commercialism comes as a hard reality.
Metacomet has been such an iconic part of the City of East Providence. Many neighborhood teenagers from the area of Lyon Ave. to Warren Ave. and some from Kent Heights caddied there, and it has many great memories for us from the late forties through the fifties until golf carts came on the scene.
Change is difficult for the old to accept, but great memories of those times live on.
