EAST PROVIDENCE — The League of Women Voters and East Bay Newspapers, the parent company of The Post, will conduct a forum for candidates on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at Martin Middle School, 111 Brown St., beginning at 6 p.m. Questions submitted by members of the public will be considered for use in the forum.
The forum features the four candidates in the inaugural campaign for mayor of East Providence: Roberto L. DaSilva, Chrissy Rossi, James M. Russo and Albert W. Quattrucci, Jr.; the Democrat primary candidates for State Senate District 14: Delmar Branco Condinho and Valarie J. Lawson: and the Democrat primary candidates for Representative District 66: Liana M. Cassar and John J. Chung.
Because the LWVRI is a non-partisan organization, IRS rules forbid allowing only one candidate in a race to speak if his or her opponent is not present. The candidates for House District 63, Katharine Kazarian, and for House District 64, David V. O’Connell, will not be able to speak because their primary opponents Elizabeth Clupny and Jose Serodio, respectively, will not be participating in the forum. Ms Kazarian and Mr. O’Connell are invited to meet with you in the foyer before the forums, beginning at 5:30 p.m..
A forum co-sponsored by the LWVRI and East Bay Newspapers for general election candidates will be on October 17 also at Martin Middle School beginning at 6 p.m.
