John N. Zinni, 66, Riverside

John N. Zinni, 66, of Riverside, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Casey) Zinni to whom he was married for 47 years.

Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Nicholas J. and Stella V. (DiSanto) Zinni. John was a heavy equipment operator for the Department of Public Works for the Town of Barrington for 34 years. After retiring from the Department of Public Works, he became an attendant at the Barrington Recycling Center. John enjoyed building and flying radio control airplanes, as well as boats and cars. He was an avid movie fan. He enjoyed camping, attending NASCAR races, and riding his motorcycle. John was a regular at the Dunkin Donuts in Riverside where he met with several of his friends. He especially loved his cats.

Besides his wife he leaves one son, John N. Zinni, Jr. and his wife Kendra of Riverside, one granddaughter, Kayley, a sister-in-law, Deborah A. Zinni of Riverside, and a nephew, Matthew D. Zinni of Riverside. He was the brother of the late David J. Zinni. Brothers and sisters-in-law, John Casey and his wife Robin of Worcester, Mass., Steven Casey and his wife Lisa of Johnston, RI, Judith Quinn and her husband John of Plainfield, Conn., Thomas Fitzgerald of Plainfield, Conn. and Pamela Casey of Swansea, Mass. Nephews and nieces, Kevin Fitzgerald and his wife Lucy of Warren, RI, Jessica Fitzgerald of Plainfield, Conn., Eric Pearson of East Wakefield, NH, Ross Casey and his wife Jessica of West Warwick, RI, Kathryn Demers of North Providence, RI, and the late Andrew Fitzgerald. Gr. nephews and nieces, Sean and Corey Fitzgerald both of Warren, RI, and Scarlette and Colby.

His funeral service and visitation were held on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 in the PERRY-McSTAY FUNERAL HOME, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service to follow at 12:00 PM. Burial was private.
