Hildegard (Hilda) Barlow, 99, a retired legal secretary of nine years with Hinckley, Allen & Synder LLP and six months shy of her 100th birthday, passed away on June 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy, two sons, Peter and Paul, five grandchildren and her three beloved cats.

As a child, she immigrated with her family from Pforzheim, Germany to Rhode Island and quickly adapted, loving the Narragansett Bay. While in her early adult life, she took a Windjammer cruise which she thoroughly enjoyed and reminisced about frequently. Later she enjoyed hiking with her husband in the White Mountains, canoeing, and camping with her family across the country and in especially, New Hampshire.

She lived in Rumford over 60 years and was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years, and member of the Appalachian Mountain Club and during her later years, a member of R.I. College Recreation Center (Club 50). She enjoyed listening to classical music, theatre, reading, traveling across the country, visiting California and the west coast, and biking on the East Bay Bike Path to Colt State Park. She loved Colt State Park and always reminisced about the times she biked there with her husband.

Donations in her memory may be made to a non profit charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday Dec. 4, 2021 in the Historic Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence. Leave online condolences at www.rebellofuneralhome.com.

He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
