Giulietta “Julia” (Parise) Curti, 100, of East Providence, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 2, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Mario Curti.
Born in Torano Castello, Province of Cosenza, Italy on January 10, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro F. Parise and the late Giuseppina (Esposito) Parise.
As a young woman she graduated from the comprehensive school of sewing and fashion design in Cosenza, dedicated to teaching the fine art of haute couture sewing in which she excelled with innovation and creativity. Giulietta emigrated to the United States in 1954 and became a citizen. She was an avid gardener, reader and gourmet cook.
Giulietta is survived by her daughter Alba Curti of East Providence and her son John Curti of East Providence, her nephews Silvio and Gennarro Parise of East Providence, a granddaughter Juliette May of Pawtucket and also her beloved mini dachshunds Lillee and Cocoa. She was the mother of the late Enrico Curti, sister off the late Giuseppe Parise and the grandmother of the late Haley Jean Curti.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on December 7 in Our Lady of Loreto Church. Private burial is in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Giulietta’s memory may be made to Our Lady of Loreto Memorial Fund, 346 Waterman Ave., East Providence, RI, 02914.
