East Providence defeats Warriors in Injury Fund outing

PAWTUCKET — The 2019 edition of the East Providence High School football took to the field for the first time Friday night, Sept. 6, against Central Falls for its annual Injury Fund contest at Max Read Field.

The Townies defeated the Warriors, 8-0, on a touchdown rush by running back Juan Diaz and a two-point conversion by quarterback Justin Pena.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
