EAST PROVIDENCE — Among the recent run of successes for the East Providence High School boys' volleyball team was a victory over neighboring Barrington in a Division II match last Thursday evening, May 5.

Since, the Townies kept pace with the leaders in Division II after they easily handled Central by the scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 20-15 in their first match of the new week Monday night, May 9.  East Providence improved to 10-2 at the time.

Owen Tellier and Grant Wosencroft each had long runs from the service line to help seal the win.  Kyle Dunn had three kills and 15 assists while DJ Lepine added five kills, five digs and five helpers.

EPHS closed last week with the aforementioned 3-1 road win over Barrington. Brett Schwab had eight kills and 11 digs while Dunn continued his solid play all around with five kills, eight digs and 16 assists. Wosencroft added nine kills.

The Townies opened last week with a 3-0 sweep of Woonsocket for their eighth win of the spring. Dunn led the locals with five kills and three service aces.

East Providence was slated to close this week with a trip to Westerly on Thursday night, May 12. The host Bulldogs sat a match behind the Townies in the D-II standings with a 9-3 record.
