Fire beats Police in contest to benefit E.P. Central Little League

EAST PROVIDENCE — "The Battle of the Badges" charity softball game between members of the East Providence Firefighters Local 850 and the East Providence Police Officers IBPO Local 569 took place Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Harry Mutter/Agawam Field Complex. Fire got the better of Police, 31-6.

The game was played to benefit East Providence Central Little League.

The winners not only gained bragging rights for the year, but also took home the Townie Cup.
