Fireworks will light up the East Bay sky this holiday weekend

There are four planned fireworks shows taking place this Sunday and Monday, July 3 and 4, in the East Bay region.

Bristol

The Bristol Fourth of July Fireworks Display is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, at 9:30 p.m. over Bristol Harbor. The best viewing spots are Independence Park, the Thames Street boardwalk and surrounding areas and some areas of Colt Park.

East Providence

The City of East Providence’s annual Independence Day Celebration takes place Sunday, July 3, at Pierce Memorial Field. Gates open at 5 p.m. with entertainment provided by David Tessier’s All-Star Stars, Luis Neves, MOJO Rising and Brendan Rush & Bella Hannah. Fireworks follow at 9:30 p.m. Events are free and open to the public. Rain date is Tuesday, July 5, using the same site and times. For more information visit www.eastprovidenceri.gov.

Fall River

Fired from a barge in the Taunton River, 1338 Davol St., on Monday, July 4, 9:30 p.m.

Newport

Weather permitting, this year’s Fourth of July Fireworks display is scheduled to light up the harbor beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Monday, July 4, with a rain date slated for Tuesday, July 5.

Portsmouth

The traditional fireworks display put on by the Escobar family at their Middle Road farm has been postponed to Saturday, July 16, at dusk.
