East Providence resident Angela Lopes celebrated her 108th birthday on Sept. 19, 2026, surrounded by friends and family.

“What an incredible woman,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said on his Facebook page. “Angela has lived more than a century with grace, strength, and love for her family. As a devoted mother of five, grandmother to four, and great-grandmother to four, she has been a source of guidance and care for generations."

"We honor the beautiful example she continues to set and wish her continued health, happiness, and many more joyful years ahead. I truly believe the love of her family and friends and the music in her life contributes to her happiness and longevity.”
