East Providence alerts residents of limited special election polling places

Voting can be done at one location in each of the city's four wards

EAST PROVIDENCE — Voting in East Providence takes place at only four locations around the city for the special election Tuesday, Nov. 7, for Rhode Island's United States Congressional District 1 pitting Democrat Gabe Amo against Republican Gerry Leonard.

The polls are open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. There will just polling place in each of East Providence's four wards.

Those locations are as follows:

  • Ward 1: City View Manor, 99 Goldsmith Ave.
  • Ward 2: St. Francis Church, 81 N. Carpenter St.
  • Ward 3: St. Martha’s Church, 2595 Pawtucket Ave.
  • Ward 4: Crescent Park Manor, 243 Crescent View Ave.

To clarify, if you usually vote at the following places during regularly scheduled elections, for the special CD1 election you will vote here:

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once.
