Art fair enjoys a new waterfront vista

Supporting local vendors while having fun out in the sun is the initiative of the organizers of the State Street Art Fair

The first time the State Street Fair will be held at Independence Park, instead of on State Street, is happening this Saturday, June 14, 2025. Moving it makes it possible to allow more vendors and more pedestrians to peruse the tables set up featuring their local goods. Visitors should expect to see the park flooded with tables and tents, with live music playing in the background, setting the pace for people to have fun while they shop — local, of course.

The event is held by the Bristol Merchants Association, an organized community of small businesses that generate ideas about how to promote, support, and improve the local economy. Their mission is to “Create a thriving business community in Bristol by connecting local entrepreneurs, providing resources and support, and advocating for policies that benefit small businesses.”

With that being said, visitors are welcome to enjoy the day at the fair taking literal and figurative steps to be a part of this mission — all while having fun.

There will be more than 70 artisan vendors scheduled to show their work at the  festival, craft foods and beverages, face painting, henna tattooing, and live music all day — and this event will happen rain or shine (though the goal is always shine).

The State Street Art Fair will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Independence Park, located at 419-459 Thames Street in Bristol. This event is free and open to the public. Everything from food, drink and entertainment will be there, so perhaps the only thing necessary to bring would be a pedometer to see how many steps are taken in an effort to support local.

WHERE: Independence Park, 419-459 Thames St, Bristol
