WESTPORT — The Westport Cultural Council announces that they have recently awarded 16 grants  for 2021-2022 totaling $49,640 for cultural programs. 

The grants, made possible with the support of the Bank of America, are given each year to fund cultural projects and individuals to the benefit of the Westport community and its surrounds.

Awarded grants this year are:

• Friends of the Westport COA, Senior on the Road Again: $840.

• Westport Free Public Library, Children’s Program Amphitheatre: $ 4,000.

• WCC Summer Arts Residency Program, Artists in Residence: $12,000.

• Merri Cyr, Westport Now Online Magazine: $1,250.

• Buzzards Bay Coalition, Discover Buzzards Bay at Horseneck Point Life-Saving Station and Gooseberry Island:             $2,500.

• Concerts at the Point, The Attacca Quartet Concert, $2,000.

• Westport Economic Development Task Force, Live Music at Westport Farmer’s Market: $2,000.

• Westport Historical Society, Self-Guided History Tours: $1,200.

• Westport Land Conservation Trust, Bach Cello Suites Festival: $5,000.

• The Art Drive, 13th Annual Open Studio Tour: $1,500.

• Westport Recreation Dept.,Summer Concert Series: $5,000.

• Westport Recreation Dept., Outdoor Movie Night: $2,500.

ª South Coast Artists, Inc., South Coast Artists Open Studio Tour 2021: $1,500.

• Seaglass Theatre Company, Inc., Marina/Whaling Women: $3,000.                          

• Westport Cultural Council, WCC Summer Film Series 2021: $3,350.

• Westport River Watershed Alliance, Exterior Mural on WRWA Building: $2,000.
