Tap-In is moving back into its Peck Center location early next month, and will need more volunteers when it does so.

The all-volunteer organization which provides goods and services to people in need throughout the East Bay moved to the Barrington Presbyterian Church in April when renovation work began on its Peck Center offices. But now, with the renovation complete, officials are moving Tap-In back to the Peck Center and are anticipating a need for more volunteers.

According to a press release from the non-profit, Tap-In will need greeters and other people to work in the food pantry. Those volunteers will be needed on Mondays or Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

"More information and other volunteer opportunities are posted on the new Tap-In website, tapinri.org, or by emailing voldirector@tapinei.org," stated the press release.

Tap-In's Peck Center headquarters are located in the lower level space — it has filled that location for the past 37 years.

"The renovated space will include an enlarged distribution area, a client-choice pantry on the first floor, and handicapped access," stated the press release.

Tap-In provides a variety of goods and services to people from Barrington, Bristol, Warren and East Providence — everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to home goods. The non-profit has also assisted people with rides to medical appointments.
