BRISTOL — For the third time to date this season and for the second in a row, Roger Williams University’s Karli Opalka has been named as the Commonwealth Coast Conference women’s basketball Player of the Week.

The sophomore center helped Roger Williams to a 2-1 week in three conference contests. She averaged 18.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game during the stretch and shot 53.5 percent (23-for-43) from the field.

She opened the week against CCC-leader University of New England. Despite being held to just six points, she was able to contribute nine rebounds and four steals. She then posted back-to-back 20-point games against Nichols and Gordon. She scored 23 against the Bison and added six boards. Against the Fighting Scots, she scored 26 with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
