Robert S. Ferrara, 82, of Bristol

Robert S. Ferrara, 82, of Bristol died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2020, at Silver Creek Manor in Bristol. He was the husband of the late Anna M. (Andreozzi) Ferrara.

He was the significant other of Linda Marshall of Bristol.

He was born in Providence, a son of the late Pasqual and Delinda (Raposa) Ferrara.

Robert was a meat cutter for the former Chellel’s Market in Barrington for over 20 years, and he was also a custodian for the Barrington School Department for over 20 years, before retiring.

Mr. Ferrara has been a lifelong Bristol resident. He was also a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Church.

He was a member of the Generations Drum and Bugle, Ocean State Drum and Bugle and the Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps, where he played the baritone and bass drum.

He enjoyed going to the beach and spending time with his family. He traveled to Atlantic City, N.J. often to visit the casinos. He liked going to Cape Cod and also New Hampshire.

He is survived by his son, Robert J. Ferrara of Barrington. He was the brother of Salvatore “Teddy” Ferrara of Riverside, Frank Ferrara of Bristol, Ellen Finley of Bristol, and Julie Izbicki of Bristol.

Mr. Ferrara was the grandfather of Jacob Robert Henry Ferrara and Christopher Hopkins.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ferrara was the brother of the late Matthew Ferrara.

His funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. from the Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
