Robert Michael Cortellessa entered into eternal rest on April 5, 2020, surrounded by his family at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich., after a brief illness. Born in Providence, R.I. and raised in Bristol, he was a husband, father, and friend to many.
Bob was the son of the late Domenic Michael Cortellessa and Camille (Raiola) Cortellessa. Growing up in Bristol, Bob spent a majority of his days on the beaches of Rhode Island. He loved clamming, catching lobsters and hanging out with his best friend, Bobby Correa.
Bob never put himself first. He was encouraging, realistic, always ready to give the shirt off his back.
After moving to Kalamazoo, he started working in the electrical field and quickly became an expert at what he did.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa (Apessos) Cortellessa, and his two children, Presley M. and Vince M. Cortellessa; also survived by his stepmom, Lou Ann (Caromile) Cortellessa. Arrangements are with Avinik Funeral Home and Cremation, 129 S Grand St., Schoolcraft, Michigan 49087.
