Posted

PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island College will host a Virtual Commencement on Saturday, May 16. The prerecorded ceremonies will be available to stream in their entirety beginning at 9 a.m.

Segments will include greetings from RIC President Frank D. Sanchez, Governor Gina Raimondo, and Class of 2020 President Jeni Melo. Alumni Association President Michael Smith (Class of 1979) and 50th Golden Anniversary class representative Barbara Loomis Smith (Class of 1970) will also deliver messages to the graduates.

The Virtual Commencement celebration will feature video collages of images submitted by undergraduate and graduate members of the Class of 2020. Video collages are compiled by school – arts and sciences, business, education, nursing and social work – and include a message from the dean of each school.

To culminate the celebration, a special prerecorded RIC CARES concert will feature student performers paying tribute to the many members of our campus community who have supported the college and our state in recent months.

All of the Virtual Commencement content can be found here starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday: http://www.ric.edu/2020-virtual-celebration/Pages/default.aspx
