Peter N. Jackson, 49, of Warren, a loving son of Joseph and Gail (Contois) Jackson, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 14, at Rhode Island Hospital. He worked in Culinary Services for Roger Williams University for many years.

Peter was a member of the Barrington Democratic Club.

Along with his parents, he leaves his beloved children, Colin, Liam and Erin; a grandson, Julian; brothers Patrick and Christopher; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. in St Dominic’s Church, 1277 GAR Hwy, Swansea, MA. His final resting place will be in North Burial Ground, Bristol. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
