Peter Louis Weldy, 81, of Barrington

Peter Louis Weldy, 81, of Bay Spring Ave, Barrington, passed away on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022, from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

A member of the Barrington Congregational Church since May of 1993, Peter served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and was founder of the still-flourishing Barrington Church Softball League.

Born in Syracuse, NY, July 1940, Peter was one of four sons of Harriet and James Weldy. A graduate of New Canaan High School in Connecticut, he attended Dartmouth College for his undergraduate studies and Columbia University graduate school. His professional career focused on national and international sales and marketing that included time abroad in South Africa and Germany, where he met his future wife, Karin.

A devout family man, Peter was a lover of sports and an enthusiastic bridge player. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, four children and five grandchildren and was surrounded by generations of loved ones at the time of his passing.
