Paula Areia Cumston, 51, passed away Oct. 8, 2019, at her home in Ormond Beach, Fla., after a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Paula is survived by her parents, Liduino and Fatima Areia of Bristol, R.I.; husband, Allan Cumston; brother, Leo Areia; two daughters and their spouses, Jherid and Shaun Perry, Jenna and Davey Lehigh; granddaughter, Kinsleigh Perry; family, John, Ashley, Brianna and Gavin Lamberti; and puppy, Brutus.

Paula was born on the Azores island of Pico, Portugal on Sept. 13, 1968. Her family immigrated to the United States in 1977. She attended Our Lady of Fatima High School and continued her studies at Roger Williams University. She found her passion in the hospitality industry, where she worked for over 25 years, developing lifelong friendships along the way. Prior to becoming ill, Paula was the sole proprietor of Huddle Games, a successful home-based business.

A special Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Church at 577 Wood St, Bristol, R.I., on Oct. 19, 2019, at 1 p.m. Mass will be followed by coffee and doughnuts in the auditorium next door.

If desired, friends can make memorial contributions to either of Paula’s favorite charities — The American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
