Memorial Day ceremonies scheduled for Monday in Bristol

On Monday, May 26, Memorial Day, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the North Burial Ground in Bristol, beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a parade down Hope street to the War Garden at the Burnside Building. The actual start time may be 9:45 a.m. as the Mt. Hope High School Band will also be attending the Warren ceremony.

In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held at the Bristol Train of Artillery on State Street and the parade will be cancelled.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
