Margaret A. Balzano, 82, of Bristol

Margaret A. (Connors) Balzano, 82, of Bristol, died Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the Warren Skilled Nursing Center.

She was born in Lewiston, Maine, a daughter of the late James Vincent Connors and the late Marie Theresa (Brunelle) Connors.

Margaret was a Registered Nurse for more than 28 years at Silver Creek Manor.

She has been a Bristol resident since 1958, coming from Lewiston.

Margaret was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was a member of the Truesdale Hospital Alumnae Association.

She enjoyed reading and going to the beach, and also spending time with her beloved granddaughter, Katie.

Margaret is survived by her children, Michael C. Balzano of Bristol, Susan M. Balzano of Bristol and Joanne L. Balzano of East Greenwich. She is the sister of Patrick L. Connors of South Windsor, Conn., and Maurice G. Connors of Manchester, Conn.

She was the grandmother of Katie M. Balzano and Jessica L. Reynolds. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Robert V. Connors.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Calling hours and flowers are omitted.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
