Mt. Hope goalkeeper Logan Levesque made 16 saves in the Huskies, 6-0, loss to first place Cumberland on Tuesday night.
“ Logan was fantastic in net,” said head coach Kerri Giarrusso. “We Played a much better second half, when we switched up the formation.”
The Huskies have a 1-4 record, in Division I North. The team’s lone win, was a 2-0, home victory, over rival, Barrington.
“We are playing with tons of effort and staying positive with one another,” Coach Giarrusso said. “The team is improving everyday and that's all I can ask for. They are wonderful kids and I absolutely love coaching all of them. We have tons of injuries right now and I’m just looking for girls to step up at different positions.”
Meanwhile, Levesque, a senior captain, has been working hard to improve on her game between the posts.
“Logan has been working extremely hard on her quick movements, side to side, as well as, punching the ball out on high shots. She has also improved on coming off her line to intercept the through balls.”
The team’s other senior captains, Tori Coroa and Joviana Goldstein have also been pitching in to help improve the team.
“They are all fabulous players and great leaders. They are very tough and never give up,” Coach Giarusso said.
Ava Normandin, Emma Kucal each scored for Cumberland and and Riley Trudeau scored twice in the first half. Nicole Calle and Trudeau scored in the second half for the Skippers.
