In response to the article, “Inspection under way on Mount Hope Bridge,” Oct. 31, I offer the following:
Regarding the Mount Hope Bridge inspection currently underway and lasting through Nov. 11, let’s hope that the same state agencies that were responsible for inspecting the Washington Bridge in Providence are not involved. Otherwise we should prepare for long-term alternate routes.
With Rhode Island Department of Transportation and Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority's track record when it comes to bridge building, inspections and repairs, I would suggest we find a more responsible resource to take over both agencies. Perhaps a good elementary school project with far better management, supervision and results.
