Letter: The Belvedere plan deserves another hearing
The Belvedere at Thames plan approved by Bristol boards was not the one discussed in public hearings and needs to be addressed in a new hearing. The approved plan was previously turned down, and some town officials only changed their minds upon receipt of the new proposal.
What has happened could be described as bait and switch or slight-of-hand, as has happened before.
Remember, Stone Harbour started as a favored rehab of a three-story mill building and ended as a new, five-story one with wings that blocked more of the harbor.
Also to be remembered is the original proposal for a less than handsome library addition that, with time and input by many, turned into our beautiful new library.
