On behalf of the Commissioners of The Cemeteries of Bristol, who are responsible for The North and East Burial Grounds, I would like to publicly thank and acknowledge Bill Chittick for the truly exceptional tree selection and landscape design at North Burial Ground on Hope Street.
Bill has been working with the Commission for the past five years. During this time, the Cemetery Commission has planted about 125 trees and Bill has been involved, one way or the other, with all these trees. He has chosen, visited wholesale nurseries, and supervised plantings. He has personally managed, trimmed, mulched and watered, most of the trees, especially the last 30 planted in the last few weeks.
Bill’s vision has forever enhanced North Burial Ground and will grow to be a more beautiful, peaceful and tranquil place for years to come as a result of his efforts.
The trees were purchased from the earnings of the Perpetual Care Fund. North Burial Ground is self-sustaining, and no Bristol town taxes are used. North Burial Ground and the Cremation Garden are available to all the citizens of Bristol, regardless of faith or belief.
Again, our most sincere thanks.
