Regarding the recent article in the Phoenix dealing with rampant parking violations in Bristol, a sure fired way to correct the disregard for signage and markings is to increase the $10 parking ticket currently in place.
A minimum fee of $50 for a violation will no doubt get the attention of most, considering you can buy a cup of coffee for $10. And now that designated Prudence Island parking has all but disappeared, long-term parking violations will continue to be a problem along Hope and neighborhood side streets.
Make the violators accountable for breaking the law.
