June A. Tattrie, 72, of Bristol

June A. (Montaro) Tattrie, 72, of Bristol passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice with family by her side on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021. She was the wife of the late William R. Tattrie for 40 years until his passing in 2008.

A lifelong Bristolian, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Dorothy (Camara) Montaro.

June was a graduate of Colt Memorial High school, class of 1966. She worked as a Medical Secretary for many years at the Rhode Island Veterans Home in Bristol. She enjoyed traveling with her husband before his passing. Her generosity and infectious smile touched everyone that knew her. She loved all animals, was an avid reader, and elevated shopping to the level of an Olympic sport. She especially loved spending time with her family.

June is survived by her son: William R. Tattrie, Jr. (Elizabeth); her grandchildren: Megan Cabral (John), Colin Tattrie, Nathan Tattrie; her siblings: Diane Mederos (Anthony), Lucien Montaro (Charles Alexandre) and her beloved dog Daisy.

Visitation will be at Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Wood St., Bristol. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground, Hope Street, Bristol. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name can be made to Save A Lab Rescue in Newport, RI www.savealabrescue.org

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
