The Mt. Hope girls volleyball team skunked Juanita Sanchez Complex, 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-20), during a Division II-A home match on Tuesday night. The Huskies lead the division with a 6-0 record.

“I’m super proud of these girls,” said head coach Lisa Lunney. “They’re scrappy. They absolutely never give up. They are the most supportive, cohesive group of girls. A genuine team, with great leaders. I’m very proud to be connected to this group of athletes.”

Senior captain and setter, Isabel Savinon, led the team with 18 assists, 10 serves with 3 aces and 5 digs.

Senior libero, Abby Ferreira, had 11 digs. “She’s our defensive rock on serve receives,” said Coach Lunney.

Freshman Mia Shaw had 15 serves with 4 aces, 5 kills and 5 digs.

Senior Sadie Pacheco had 8 serves with 2 aces and 4 kills for the Huskies.

After two weeks of play, Mt. Hope is already half-way through their schedule with just 7 matches left. The team heads on the road for their next three games, at Portsmouth on April, 1, at Middletown on April 5, and at PCD on April 7.
