The Rhode Island Republican Party is hosting an awards gala recognizing Halsey Herreshoff, among other Republicans, for their years of dedicated and devoted public service and support to state of Rhode Island.
The event, The Rhode Island Republican Party Standing Ovation Gala, is an event held every two years that recognizes select individuals throughout the state and inducts them into the RIGOP Hall of Fame for their contribution to state and local politics, policy, and public service.
Mr. Herreshoff, who was honored to be granted the award, showed great enthusiasm with the announcement and will be sure to speak as recipient of the award at the forthcoming gala.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the Varnum Armory, 6 Main St., East Greenwich. Tickets for the event are $100 and $75 for students and can be purchased at www.ri.gop or contact Sue Stenhouse at Stenhouse.sue@gmail.com.
The Bristol Republican Town Committee, who nominated Mr. Herreshoff for this award, is hoping to have a strong turn-out of Bristol-area friends and supporters who appreciate the many years of honorable service Halsey has given.
“The Bristol GOP considers Halsey an elder-statesman and a guiding light for not only our party but for civil service as a whole,” said Thomas Carroll, chairman of the Bristol Republican Town Committee. “With over three decades of public service, we are proud of his ability to lead by example, putting his town first, and look forward to the state party honoring his service.”
