The Frog and the Prince

Saturday, July 1, 1 p.m.

The Fourth of July Committee in conjunction with Kaleidoscope Theatre is presenting “The Frog Prince” on Saturday, July 1, at 1 p.m. at Independence Park as part of the concert series. The free show is for children. The rain location is at Mount Hope High School on Chestnut Street.

Young Prince Noble is having a really bad day. Anya, queen of the gypsies, is in love with him. He gets pushed down a well and then he’s transformed into an icky green frog. Will Prince Noble learn a lesson in humility and win the lovely Princess Cassandra’s heart?

Steve Smith and the Nakeds

Now celebrating nearly 40 years touring throughout the USA and Canada, this rhythm & blues powerhouse has taken their distinct infectious blend of rhythm, brass and fun to the touring stage with Bruce Springsteen's saxophonist, Clarence Clemons. They have been featured on television, appearing on MTV's video countdown program "The Basement Tapes", and the title track for their CD,” I'm Huge” gained notoriety by being included on the Fox TV season 6 Family Guy DVD box set. The song is the driving force behind the animated music video featuring the band and the Family Guy characters. The music video caused quite a buzz on youtube with more than 450,000 views. Recently inducted into the RI Music Hall of Fame, Steve Smith and the Nakeds’ performance will not allow you to sit still.
