Leonard Calandra, pictured here on a 2019 trip to Rome, is leaving his 5th grade classroom at Colt Andrews after 34 years, to enjoy a quieter life in retirement. Growing up in Bristol the eldest of 4 sons with many local cousins, Calandra was well equipped to to teach 5th grade. Known for his energetic personality, humor and compassion, Calandra’s kind, fun, and inclusive way of teaching left a mark on the hundreds of students whom he taught over the years. Mention Len Calandra’s name in conversation and someone will respond that their child or themselves were lucky to have such an inspiring and caring teacher. He will be missed at Colt Andrews.
