Eileen (Silvia) Botelho, 88, passed away on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late George Botelho, to whom she had been married to for 60 years before his death in 2012.

Born in Fall River, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (DeMilio) Silvia. Mrs. Botelho was educated in Bristol and employed by the former Smith Manufacturing and then the former Converse Manufacturing for 40 years before retiring.

She will always be remembered for her big heart, delicious food and beautiful crocheted hats and afghans. Eileen touched so many lives with her generosity and time. Although she never had children of her own, she was devoted to caring for all of her nieces and nephews when they were children, especially her Michael and Stee.

She is survived by her brother, Joseph Silvia and his wife Donna of Bristol; godchildren Roger, Sheree and Bethany Alves of Bristol, whom Mrs. Botelho cared for, guided and loved deeply since they were young children; 22 nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late William Silvia and Roger Alves.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St., Bristol, R.I.

Mask use is required and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Memorial donations may be made to: Meeting Street School, 1000 Eddy St., Providence, RI  02905. http://meetingstreet.org
