Dorvalino “Del” Furtado, 76, of Rehoboth and formerly of Jennifer Drive, passed away on Feb. 27, 2020, at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Agnes (Lima) Furtado.

Dorvalino “Del” Furtado, 76, of Rehoboth

Dorvalino “Del” Furtado, 76, of Rehoboth and formerly of Jennifer Drive, passed away on Feb. 27, 2020, at Miriam Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Agnes (Lima) Furtado.   

Born in Burguete, Lomba da Maia, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Arthur and Genoveva da Gloria (Arrruda) Furtado. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, John Furtado and his wife Patricia of Dartmouth, and Anthony Furtado and his wife Natasha of Rehoboth. He was the grandfather of Justin Furtado, Adrienne Sokoll, Isabella Furtado, Anthony Furtado and Julian Furtado; and great-grandfather of Jaiden Sokoll, Jazymine Furtado and Aria Sokoll. He was the brother of Lurdes Furtado, Gloria Silva and the late Maria Furtado Botelho, Arthur Furtado and Jose Fernando Furtado.                   

Mr. Furtado was educated in Portugal and employed as a Foreman for C. B. Utility Company for 30 years before retiring.

His funeral services were held March 5 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Gilberto Orioli at St. Elizabeth’s Church.  The offertory gifts were presented by John Furtado, Patricia Furtado, Anthony Furtado and Natasha Furtado. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Luis Botelho, Jose Furtado, Saulina Silva, Justin Furtado, Mike DeLima and John Marques.
