Dennis Pacheco, 84, of Bristol, R.I. passed away Feb. 4, 2020, at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. He was the son of the late Dennis and Angelina Pacheco of Bristol, R,I. Dennis was the husband of Audrey Myers Pacheco for the last 46 years.

His memory will live on through his daughter, Jennie Wang, son-in-law, Tony Wang, and granddaughter, Gwendolyn Wang. He was the brother of the late Sophie Ormond and Alice Bell. He lived in Bristol his entire life.

Dennis worked as a self-employed carpenter and painter. He built the home he, his wife and daughter lived in. He enjoyed building, painting, home projects, yard work, quahogging, swimming, cooking Portuguese food, listening to the radio, and traveling with his loved ones. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially over a good meal. Earlier in his life he was the proud owner of a green pickup truck.

A private service will be held with his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity of your choice.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
