David A. Erickson, 84, of Bristol passed away peacefully on Friday Sept. 18, 2020, with his loving family at his side.

Born in Duluth, Minn., he was the son of the late Emil J. Erickson and Emma Johnson Erickson.

David spent the last 47 years of his life with his adoring wife Irene (Castro) Erickson, who he lovingly called “Reen.” Together they enjoyed sailing on their boat, the Winsome Lass, where they shared many beautiful memories.

David’s labor of love was his garden, which he was very proud of. He enjoyed making breakfast from scratch, including his famous Swedish pancakes. David also had a penchant for literature, enjoying both reading and writing. He loved the outdoors and taking long walks.

David introduced Irene to ballroom dancing, a hobby they shared for many years, even winning an award for their dancing skills.

David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and a retired senior engineer from Raytheon, in Portsmouth R.I.

David and Irene are members of the St. James Lutheran Church in Barrington, R.I.

In addition to his parents in death, David is reunited with his sister, Verna Losinski.

David leaves behind his wife Irene, nieces and nephews, and friends. David will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

Funeral services and burial will be private, and visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
