After an 8-4 conquering of Rumford delivered the Bristol Warren 10U Little League team a District 2 title and a trip to the state tournament, their story ended last week when the lost in the semi-final round to Cumberland by a score of 2-12. To get to the semis, they bounced back after a first-round shutout loss to Cumberland by beating Warwick Continental American 10-5.
“The 10U team was the only Bristol Warren team to win the RI District 2 title,” said Coach David Campbell reflecting on their victory over Rumford. “Caleb Walsh pitched 4-1/3 innings striking out 11 batters with only 1 walk. Mylo Vail came out swinging and had 3 hits (2 singles and 1 double). Tommy Carroll had a triple and 2 RBIs. All together Bristol Warren racked up 12 hits and 8 runs to beat out Rumford for the District title.”
