Bristol Police: One arrest, plus neighbor and noise complaints

Bristol police officers made one domestic violence arrest and responded to an array of calls for noisy or annoying neighbors from Aug. 3 to 10.

Monday, Aug. 3

Police responded to Sandra Court after someone reported a juvenile walking around unattended at 2:07 p.m. An officer confirmed the parents were home, and there were no problems.

Two people were transported to area hospitals after a motorcycle struck a deer near the intersection of Metacom and Griswold avenues at 7:47 p.m.

An officer confirmed that a 911 call from Franca Drive was false, as a child was playing with a phone.

Someone complained of loud music on Mt. Hope Avenue at 11:25 p.m.

At 11:27 p.m., a resident reported that someone had keyed his car on Bradford Street.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

A caller from Union Street reported their flag missing but did not want to file a report at 8:13 a.m.

A caller from Poppasquash Road reported a man loading stones from a pile in front of his residence and driving away at 11 a.m.

Someone on Gibson Road reportedly dumped paint illegally, but the property owner chose not to file a report.

A caller reported a road rage incident in the area of Metacom and Gooding avenues.

A resident on Richmond Street reported items taken from her property sometime the day before.

A Wood Street resident called to report a branch fallen on their parked vehicle at 4:21 p.m. An officer responded and documented a small scratch on the mirror.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

An officer responded to Franklin Street at 1:08 p.m. to investigate a verbal argument. There were no arrests.

An Ursula Drive resident complained of neighbor harassment at 2:56 p.m.

Someone reported a group of juveniles outside on the back deck of an abandoned house on Bradford Street at 3:31 p.m. A patrolman and the owner of the property responded to the scene.

Someone reported a fight or argument between a man and woman on Rego Avenue at 8:49 p.m. An officer learned there was no problem, other than the woman being stung by a bee.

A resident notified police that a car with Massachusetts plates drove into Colt State Park shortly before midnight, and they then heard four gun shots. Both DEM and Rhode Island State Police joined Bristol officers at the scene. They issued a summons to the owner of a vehicle found parked inside the park and dispersed the person from the area.

Thursday, Aug. 6

At 6 a.m., an officer righted a port-a-john that had been tipped over behind Byfield School.

A Sweeney Lane resident complained about a chronically barking dog at 9:05 a.m.

There were two calls about raccoons in dumpsters. One was in the area of Richmond and Prospect streets; the other was on Old Ferry Road.

Someone reported an injured coyote in the area of Peckham Place at 11:50 a.m.

Someone complained about a lot of yelling by children on Second Street at 5:48 p.m.

A resident on State Street requested an officer regarding an issue with a neighbor and vulgar language at 6:03 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 7

A resident complained about repeated loud banging coming from a residence at the corner of Prospect and Catherine streets at 1:50 a.m.

Someone complained about a loud group in the area of State Street at 3:30 a.m. An officer responded and found no evidence.

Rescuers took one person to the hospital after an accident at the corner of Chestnut and Naomi streets at 12:17 p.m.

Someone reported raccoons in a dumpster on Mulberry Road at 1:48 p.m.

A resident complained about a barking dog on Karen Ann Drive at 4:02 p.m.

Officers dispersed a man from the area of Mt. Hope Avenue and Wood Street at 7:51 p.m.

An officer spoke to a group of people sitting in front of a Court Street residence at 11:40 p.m. after a neighbor complained of noise.

Saturday, Aug. 8

Officers dispersed a large group of people from the State Street Dock at 12:36 a.m.

Officers spoke to a group of four or five men who were apparently looking into driveways in the area of Hopeworth Avenue and Berry Lane at 1:38 a.m.

An officer took a complain from Fesser Avenue at 9:57 a.m. regarding something a neighbor hung on their fence.

A man from Greenway Drive called police after reportedly receiving feces in the mail. A patrolman found it was a prank.

Officers were called to E Street for a dispute between landlord and tenant at 1:43 p.m.

An officer dispersed six people who were trespassing after they were dropped off on a dock off Monkeywrench Lane at 5:53 p.m.

Officers were called to St. Elizabeth Street at 10:38 p.m. to investigate a large gathering. They found fewer than 15 people were there and no violations.

An officer spoke with people on Primrose Drive at 11:26 p.m. after receiving a complaint about a noisy outdoor gathering.

Sunday, Aug. 9

An officer advised resident to turn down the volume after receiving a loud-music complaint from Wood Street at 11:10 a.m.

A woman from Magnolia Street came to the station to report a domestic assault. A rescue was called to the scene to treat a hand injury.

After a caller reported a woman yelling along Metacom Avenue at 1:17 p.m., officers caught up with a man who had driven east on Annawamscutt Drive. He was stopped and taken into custody. Tyler M. Franco, 22, of 467 Metacom Ave., Bristol, was charged at the station with domestic vandalism and domestic assault and later released.

At 5:32 p.m., a patrolman dispersed several people and vehicles from an area of Lower Ferry Road beneath the Mt. Hope Bridge.

A caller complained about excessive noise from a location on Massasoit Avenue at 5:53 p.m.

Someone complained about juveniles skating in the road in the area of Franklin and Buttonwood streets at 9:12 p.m.

An officer spoke to those involved after juveniles were riding on a golf cart along Sullivan Lane at 10:42 p.m.

Police received several calls about a disturbance in Siegel Street at 11:07 p.m. There were no arrests.

Monday, Aug. 10

A Bay View Avenue resident reported at 1:31 a.m. that someone had egged his residence.
